Shamina Hossain-McKenzie

Bio:  Dr. Shamina Hossain-McKenzie is a Principal Member of the Technical Staff in the Cyber Resilience R&D department at Sandia National Laboratories. She received her electrical engineering Ph. D. and Master’s degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2017 and 2014, respectively, and her B.S. degree from Washington State University in 2012. Her research focuses on the intersection of power system analytics and cybersecurity by leveraging cyber-physical modeling and analysis to develop comprehensive adaptive detection and response techniques, novel situational awareness capabilities, and interoperable grid defense tools. She currently leads projects that are developing a cyber-physical interdependency analysis framework, hardware and virtual cyber-physical situational awareness sensors, and bump-in-the-wire cyber-physical intrusion detection devices for photovoltaic systems.
